penglibatan pemerhati bebas dari Australia memantau perjalanan Pilihan Raya Umum Ke- 13 (PRU13) akan datang.
Anwar sengaja menimbulkan keraguan terhadap sistem pilihan raya di negara ini dengan melontarkan syor yang beliau sendiri menjangka tidak akan dilaksanakan. Tetapi keuntungan politik bagi Anwar bukanlah syor itu dilaksanakan atau tidak. Sebaliknya syor yang diharapkan boleh mencetus kontroversi itu akan mengalih perhatian pelbagai pihak dalam dan luar negara terhadap kes mahkamah yang sedang dilaluinya dan juga pergolakan luar biasa dalam PKR.
Beliau sedang mendepani tuduhan meliwat pembantu peribadinya dan kes ini sudah tentu menjadi menu penting kepada media dalam dan juga di luar negara. Beliau percaya dengan melontarkan syor yang kontroversi, tumpuan kepada kes mahkamah dan pergolakan dalam PKR yang menunjukkan kegagalan kepimpinannya akan dilupakan.
Anwar sebenarnya tidak perlu menjawab atau mengulas pun sebab meminta pemerhati bebas dari Australia. Walaupun alasannya sistem pilihan raya negara ini didakwa tidak demokratik, tetapi ini bukanlah tuduhan baru selepas Anwar dipecat dari kerajaan dan menyertai pembangkang. Jadi, kenapa mempersoalkan demokrasi selepas pembangkang berjaya menguasai lima negeri dalam PRU12 yang lalu? Datuk Seri Nizar Jamaluddin will travel the length and breadth of Perak to hold a series of ceramah to convince the people he is still the legitimate menteri besar.
The Pakatan Rakyat (PR) alliance has also decided against naming Sultan Azlan Shah in a legal suit it is planning, as it attempts to deflect attacks from Barisan Nasional (BN) over the question of loyalty to the state’s ruler.
